When I feel I am in a rock and hard place I dig myself out and move on. I have learned that people are going to dislike things no matter what you do because everyone is different. What makes it hard though is the negative thoughts that tend to roll up in the back of your mind and make you think you aren't so great of a person because of this fact. Sometimes I get a gut wrenching reaction around certain people and I hate it. The only thing that makes me feel better is the knowledge of knowing that it is human nature.
