Well, this year I would like to go out with a bang. This may be my last year at my school because I may be transferring to a new High School. I was wondering how can my friends and I become more popular this year? We are all thinking about trying out for cheerleading this year so we're going to see how that goes. I talk to some of the popular kids but not that major ones... It's not that I'm a loser or anything it's just that I want to be respected my last year here and I want to take all my friends with me :)
Any ideas and tips will help big timee..

Sweetie, when you hit the end of high school you are going to realize that what other people think of you like that does not matter. The people that still have that mentality after high school are usually the ones who live in the past and don't move forward.
You and your friends just need to be yourselves, what somebody else thinks of you doesn't make you a different person, so why worry about it? Eventually you will realize that when you're an adult, people will admire you for just being yourself and not trying to impress every one else. Men especially appreciate that. Trust me on this one, I learned it the hard way.

I completely understand your question and I was concerned about the same things when I was your age.
My own regrets for that very fact forces me to tell you that you are concerned with nonsense things that will mean nothing to you in your future.
The thing you should be worried about is.....you already heard it all before..but the sad fact is you wont realize it until it is too late.....grades...college.....learning.....etc...
Screw popularity and all that waste of time.
Worry about your future because the "now" of your high school years is just a tiny blip on the radar screen that is your life.
What you do in the next 3 years will greatly affect your happiness for the rest of your life...And I am talking about what you do in the terms of how hard you work and prepare for your future...if you dont know what you want in the future yet....then decide something even if its wrong....you only have one chance to get a good jump on your adult happiness and it is now and the work you put in now or the time you waste on popularity now will affect your happiness for the rest of your life like you have no idea
Years from now all you are going to care about is how good of a college did you get into and did you impress the right adults that can help you to have a good life. Now is the time to make those decisions and connections and impress the right adults that can make your future really easy and fun or make it a real drag with a crappy job that you hate.
Dont get me wrong....dont be a hag....but just please realize that how popular you were in high school will have VERY little to do with how happy you are in the future...the decisions you make about your future now will have sooo much more of an effect on how happy you are later....The people that dont have suck jobs later are the ones impressing adults in high school.

k well there's one huge no-no don't try sucking up to them
because then they'll spread a rumor about u saying that ur a suck up and a wanna be
and if you truly want to be popular don't try to hang out with the popular kids
i mean cuz they rarely let anyone into their group and when they do it's just to laugh at them
so my suggestion to you is to make as many friends as possible and if you get good at it and u are liked by a lot of people at school (ho cares about the popular people) then u might be more popular than them and i know it sounds like a corny movie but trust me it works, cuz usually if u find your own way to the top without the popular people they'll like you more and they might actually ask you to be in their group when they find out that u really know your stuff
o and don't forget to be always confident even if ur having a bad hair day or watever show it off like it's the best one you have ever had because if you gonna be popular you gotta show everyone that you got the stuff and that your not just a fluffball that wants to fool around

well, you could join extra curriculum things in school like as you suggested "cheerleading" or another hobby you have. maybe get a new hot look i became popular when i changed my hairstyle (i think it's because people didn't recognise me, lol) sit next to new people during class or lunch, be more social, join in on interesting conversations, mainly get more people to know you. hope i helped ^_^
