"He’s brought an intensity, an edge, to us that maybe people had only seen in Michael Jordan."

He says this referring to Kobe Bryant.

Okay. This is how it goes. The statement tells us of how Michael Jordan is STILL the yardstick in which basketball geatness is measured. As I said before in my previous answers (search it because my questions and answers are available to the public. That's how transparent I am) if Kobe is compared to Michael then there must be something about him.

Jerry's statement is only an affirmation of what I am saying.

And that's just about it.

Some players are special because of their ability to concentrate and focus on the situation at hand. When the game is on the line they can raise their performance and their intensity to do the things needed to win the game. Many ballplayers have physical skills but in crunch time, they disappear. Dirk is one of these. Maybe it's that the player deep down doubts his being to rise to the occasion. I don't know for sure but very few can play better under pressure than they can at other times.

Dear Goddess,

Please don't limit this question to the Top Contributors because that's discriminating.

For my answer, Yes I agree with Dath Revan that Jordan is still the yardsstick of greatness. Kobe is still going to that point.

It only confirms that point.

Thanks for this great question!!!

I think he's talking about Kobes competitiveness. He see Kobes will and desire to win by showing great defence and unstopable offence. He has that killer insticnt that he can be the best player out there like MJ had.
