we all make choices in life.. some good and some bad.. so which have you made that have had the biggest positive impact on it?

i would have to say the two main choices i have made for myself are to believe in God but to not stuff myself in a specific group of believers.. i don't think i should have to have a label to have faith.. and the second is to be straight edge.. keep my body pure to keep my mind pure..

i'm not into shoving my believes down other people's throats.. but i do like to see what effects other people.. i'm a psychology major i can't help it lol.. so yeah.. how about you guys?

The best choice I made was to give birth and give my girl to a loving couple. It was also the hardest choice I think I will ever have to make in my life. And I haven't ever regretted it.

The other big choice was recently. To leave a man I wasn't in love with anymore, but was my best friend and could give me everything I ever wanted in life except true unconditional love. Hopefully that one will play out well. I think it will.

I think my best choice has been to work with nonprofit organizations for a career. I only work with good people who are trying to make a difference in the world. I only meet rich people who care about the poor and are trying to do something about it. I've set up my world so there is no evil in it, and I feel very fortunate about this.

BTW, I think you're making a mistake not to find a religious community for yourself. You should shop around for a place where you feel comfortable. Religion is really about find support amongst others: it's about building community. If you can find that, you will travel much farther in the world. It's great that you're straight-edge! Congrats!

I've learnt to see better! From reading a book about how boys grow up I've begun to appreciate better how my boys are doing and stress over it much less. I have more faith in their ability to make choices and the results of them taking their own paths. I see more now of what capable individuals they are growing into.

I moved to a country where the sky is blue more often than not, and the sun shines more. The people are more open minded and accepting than in my country of origin and it is not dominated by religious dogma. My new home is a cleaner and more positive bright place. Instead of whinging about where I was, we saved up and went to find somewhere better to live.

The other one was learning as I grew up to believe in my own inner voice, the instinct thing - and sometimes I fool myself about what it says to me and I stuff up and learn from it and sometimes, well almost always, it is right.

I started to listen to my body more lately too, it wasnt very happy, so now I am being kinder to it. Its all good.

At one time in my life I had a need to know if God existed, and I kept asking to let me know. That had a big impact on my life.

Reading the book, "Why Does He Do That: Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men." This shook me.
