a sample size of at least 10-20% of the population is acceptable for large populations. but say for example your population is just 20 or 50, i suggest you take all of them. remember, the bigger the sample size, the better your survey will be.

Well it really depends. If you want an extensive and information survey, then about 100 people. Try not to go beyond that or you'll have a hard time compiling the results and analyzing them. If you just want a simple and quick survey, I suggest about 20 people will be sufficient. :)
