His race and his name. Note to anti-Obama voters; this is not an endorsement. I'm not voting for the guy because I don't like his politics. My suspicion is most Americans won't vote for him because of the other two reasons.

I, you hit the nail on the head. repubs often use his middle name when they want to slime him. that's because they are bigots and they know most americans are bigots.

Sen. Obama could easily trump this 'name' problem by simply putting a (') mark between the O and the B.....making it O'Bama...thus nailing down the Irish vote. Who doesn't like the Irish? As far as his 'color', he could just say he's one of the 'black Irish. Or, maybe folks these days are a lot smarter than when they got suckered in by the BS 'Texan' who was not only 'white', but a real 'Christian' with a full on 'American' name. My feeling is that the Senator is going to run, endure an entire fleet of swift-boats and all kinds of insults, lies and phoney 'exposes' and in the end most likely land up being the President of the United States for eight good years. If another 'Bush' gets elected, the end of the 'republic' will most likely be the result. Learn to say 'Sieg Heil', folks, and with a straight face or risk a visit from the Homeland Security Gestapo. No kiddin'!

I happen to disagree. I think that the majority of americans have advanced beyond such foolish reasons not to vote for someone. I honestly think experience is what is hurting Obama right now. In 8 years he will be the Democrat front runner in my opinion just not right now. And the name is just a stupid thing people who don't like him use, anybody with any sense discounts that right away.

I'm just glad that his ignorant statements are coming up so often now that people will not have to wonder if his race played any part in his failure to win the nomination. Him being black is the least of his problems once his mouth starts moving. Remember, he is articulate and clean. Which means he looks good and correctly pronounces all those fancy big words that he uses. It is simply the content and the context that seems to trip him up.

He's going to lose the election based on lack of experience and knowledge on the issues. Obama has no substance in any of speeches. America does not want a socialist for president.

I doubt it.

If he were Muslim or Jewish, then maybe. But I think this country would vote for a black president. Had it not been for GWB's disastrous presidency, both Colin Powell and Condileeza Rice could be viable candidates.

I don't think that his name will be an issue, as he was running during a high awareness time, and was elected into office. (I thought it would be at the time and was wrong)
I think that he will make it into office...look who he is running against...Hilary Clinton!

It all comes down to this...what will we have first, a black president or a female president!

Most people who do not vote for him will probably be because he is democrat.

I think he is too inexperienced. And, I don't get any clear idea of his platform. I will not be voting for him.

I hate to say it but I think they will not vote for him because he is black.

That and most Americans are, I think, Republicans.
