I gratuated just this year and has been working for almost four months now by referral. Though I find the job interesting and suits to my expertise, It was only last week when I found that the person who referred me to work has something personal going on with my Dad. I slapped her when I found out that she has been calling my Dad using the company's line. Now she is destroying my image to the President for such an act. She blocks my salary and don't report my accomplishments. What will I do? the president just offered me promotion. Will I accept it or just leave the company? I don't know where to stand.

You slapped her? There's something wrong with you. You should leave the job because you are an idiot and you don't know how to behave in difficult situations.

I wouldn't quit till I found a new job. But if you slapped another employee I'm surprised you even still have a job. What this person does on company time should not be of any concern to you even if she does have something personal with your father. If I were you I would humbly apologize take the promotion, but keep looking for a new job. Although I'm not quite sure how you made it through college without learning how to use spell check, or proper grammar.

She has a relationship with your father and you HIT her!? If she reports you, you're fired. She could (should?) also have you charged with Battery. Keep your hands to yourself.

She can't be doing much to "destroy your image" if the company president has offered you a promotion after working there only 4 months. Sounds like you are over reacting.

You should move on to another company. You are already guilty of Violence in the Workplace; you have angered and struck another employee; you are now accusing that person of trying to sabotage your career. Your anger and paranoia will damage you in ways you can not imagine. Start over someplace else.

Relationships usually dont last very long, people move on. Tell your dad whats up. Report her to the boss, if the boss doesnt listen/fire her, then just quit. You should have a positive work place. Its not like you wont get a job with your degree. Whats blocking salary, does that mean youre not getting paid? If youre not getting paid, definately quit. You cant support yourself on nothing.

You didn't happen to mention whether your Dad is married.

If he's not, you need to mind your own business about his private life, and apologize to both of them.

That's aside from whatever you decide to do about this particular job.

If he is, I'd suggest you get another job. Whether you say anything to his wife or not is a separate question, but get out of the blast area when it does blow up.

Don't quit and REPORT her. If you have credible evidence you can get her in BIG trouble. Tell the President that she does this.

Don't quit your job until you find a new job first.
