I think that a minority has a better chance all politics aside. Reason being, and regardless of how shallow this may be, President Palmer from the series "24" was a minority, and that has put it into the minds of Americans that someone of minority status can lead the country.

Good question! I sincerely don't think the voters in our country are ready for either. The best bet to get either one elected President is to run them as Vice Presidents first. Voters would go for that, and, have few qualms about voting for them as President if they did a good job in the V. P. spot. Let them prove themselves first.

I wish it were truly otherwise but the more democrat candidates running, the least likely it is that one will win. Governor Perry in TX was re-elected that way, because too many other candidates (other parties) did not consolidate enough votes to get him out of office. Yes, there are always gonna be people who vote by race or sex and not the ideas behind the candidate. This is america, the melting pot? NOT.
