I believe so except in cases of physical or mental abuse. Otherwise I think everything else can be worked on and out. I have been married to a man for almost 13 years and he has been in the military all of them years and we have had our ups and downs but our relationship is stronger and more loving today than it was when we first got married.

Sometimes it is those difficult times that proves how strong your relationship is if you stand by each other and stay together.

Of course I believe in it. I would never cheat on my boyfriend... It just isn't right. I believe that if you are with someone, you should stand by them no matter what life throws at you.

I truly agree with this song. If you love someone unconditionally, you will always be there for them: good times or bad. When I am sick, sad or lonely my boyfriend always say that he loves me in good time and in bad, sickness and health. That's true love and I am willing to reciprocate and "Stand by my man", until the very end.

I do, but this is a tough one for today's women because they're told by the culture not to tollerate men's shortcomings. Truth is, I think women who stand my their men are the happiest and most fulfilled.

Being divorced twice, I would have to say this song mocks relationships today. No woman wants to stand by an honest, dependable man (mistakes or otherwise) unless he buys the damn moon on his credit card. Romance may not be dead but it sure is taking a beating.

I wish someone would prove this statement wrong.

Yes. I did for a little while. My last boyfriend used to be in the military and even though it wasn't easy and my family didn't like him I didn't care. It was a good relationship.
