It shouldn't be awkward, but there's a transvestite/ hermaphrodite living down the hall and she (he) just sits in her room and doesn't go out. This is a fairly small campus so I want to be friendly towards her but why does it feel so strange?

Any suggestions?

Poor thing she thinks that people will be mean to her I bet. I feel kinda sorry for her. You should ask her to go have lunch with you some day. Try and get to know her and show her you are a good person and will not judge her or be unkind to her. Then after you get to know her you can introduce her to some of your friends. I feel sorry for her she is probably shy and feels insecure. Just be nice to her and show her how nice you are and take it from there. Good luck, I hope she feels more at ease soon. =)

Try by not referring to her as "tranny." Just go over, knock on her door and give her a box of cookies. Make her feel like you actually want to be her friend and not judge her.

she thinks others will judge or be rude towards her. Once you get to know her the weirdness (you feel) will be gone.

Just knock on her door and tell her that since you both don't have anything going on why not hang out together?? :)

Buy a huge box of dildos and spread them all over the house. Then leave for like an hour. Apparently that's what makes them happy.
