Not all products from China are unsatisfactory. A better question, why not greater strategy of international commerce? Would you expect a poor person to spend the same amount for a domestic made item which costs perhaps three-five times that of an import? Not hardly. Many people purchase according to their buying power, budget, else to cut corners, or much opposite sometimes due their extravagant desires. Possibly ask leadership to approach a more conservative effort towards a more universally accomodating economy? Granted the economic equilibrium at present distorted, it shall require a little effort to repair.

Because it appears to be cheap.

Isn't that sort of the definition of our trade deficit with China, and our bonds that they have purchased?

For every dollar we spend today on cheap Chinese goods, we owe four in the future.

The proper way to phrase this question is...

"Is there any other crap to buy besides the crap made in Communist China?"

china has subs we can't see with sonar. they can shoot down our military satellites. they hacked into our military computers.

they are becoming a superpower. so is russia. and russia and china have a defense pact.

russia is helping iran to get nukes. china buys a lot of oil from iran. both are helping iran in the united nations.

why, that would make russia and china part of the axis of evil. what is bush going to do about them? lol....

Not a clue. My husband has trained me to look at where the product is made before purchase. If made in China, then we don't buy it, even if it is something we absolutely have to have. We buy a majority of our stuff that is made in America by the working man. Yes, we pay twice as much, but we support America, and support our economy, not a bunch of communist whacko's over there. Pathetic isn't it?!?! Don't shop at Wal-Mart!!!!

A bunch of reasons. For example countries that trade together don't go to war. Countries that don't trade together fight in cold or hot wars. Just look at the countries we are at odds with and then look at our economic relationship with those countries.
