I agree. It seems like the a.s.s. holes always rise to the top. But would you really want to be like them?
I decided a long time ago that I needed to be true to myself. That means feeling good about who I am and what my values are. I couldn't live with myself if I was an overbearing, insensitive, dishonest jerk. I don't care how much money I made or what the other perks were. It just isn't who I am. Thank God there are plenty of people who aren't like the ones at the top. They're the ones that make life genuine, sweet and worth living for.

YOU say to each his own.Ever tried, when it affects others?Do ti and wait to be screwed out of shape. There is no point going to extremes unless we want to throw our failures on others.People say hard work and honesty doesn't pay.May be, but who said that these alone will take you places? It's really very simple.Say,a job requires, say 9 skills(say 5 technical and 4 non technical like hard work, salesmanship,Influencing people and so no.At the end of the day and outcome not on my favor,it's no use(except in blame-game)to say that things like hard work doesn't pay.Remember if you join to play a game( say a job),you must know the rules, master them and play them in a way that you win. It's fair and every body is entitled to do so.By the way, there shall always be people who short circuit the system and succeed but they are fewer in numbers and also don't go far. Here nature(or call it providence) is a real balancer'

The key to success is not just hard work but creative work; original ideas. People that are genuinely creative must be open and attentive and are often really easy to deal with. The most successful manager must also be able to really inspire and reach people. It is a myth that success means being selfishly cruel. Such people one way or another eventually fall.

Mr. Potty Mouth we can tell you are NOT in the hard-working crowd by your negative attitude. Man, clean it up or wash you mouth out with soap. You are wrong sir, I am in the $250,000 a year range and I do not cheat, I play fair, pay all my bills, including 2 sons in University of Tulsa and a daughter in NSU so does that make me a cheat??
P.S. I am a high-school drop-out from the 1980's... what's your excuse?

True, true. However, you need to be a warrior for your ideas, for your place in life. I was a nice guy for 38 years. And I got stepped on by those who took advantage of me, and I watched them climb the ladder of success while I was only allowed to climb the ladder because someone needed a better foot hold to step on. Then I stopped being a nice guy to those I am working with. I'm not a jerk either, but, if I am even slightly thinking they are taking advantage of me I don't hesitate to jump all over them. Word gets around to steer clear of me if you plan on using me to gain a better position for yourself! Now, no one steals my ideas, no one steals my thunder, no one tries to take my position, and I am noticed by the corporate bodies and I like it!

I agree with you. I worked hard for years but once I had twins with disabilities my life was over as I knew it.
