The one that's all over the news, selling out of california for $90,000. Anyone know how many miles you will get on a single tank or charge? How fast do they go? Im assuming you will need a diffrent kind of license and some of the laws will be diffrent from regular cars to make it road legal. Do they have a website for it? I wonder if they will be easy to get.

I'm not sure which one your talking about.
there are a few in the works.

The M200G? its listed as $90,000
if this is the one your talking about all the info is right here.
seems like regular gasoline

Only flies up to 10 - 11 ft - thusly making it a recreational vehicle with no FAA regulations.

Then theres the X-Hawk, but its really for military and police/emergancy forces, and more like a helicopter with a new design and protected blades.

my fav. the Moller Skycar (same guys that make the m200g)

engine info

a claim from Moller:
the M400 Skycar can cruise comfortably at 275 MPH (maximum speed of 375 MPH) and achieve up to 20 miles per gallon on clean burning, ethanol fuel.

I don't think any of these vehicles are really made for "driving", but more specifically for flying.(thanks to VTOL)

These things ARE designed to be easy to fly. thats one of the main goals of flying cars. Car implies that ANYONE should be able to fly/drive/buy it.
At first it was the idea of a small plane built into a car. Now we are trying to drop the car idea and just redesign the plane/helicopter and make them cheaper

Licenses, I'm sure. There will be a few, lucky, early birds that won't be regulated, but when it starts to pick up, the FAA and/or your local state will want to get their fingers in the honey "money" pot and charge you for classes, licenses and registration.

not to mention forcing insurance coverage concerning other fliers, and property (houses, wires, ect.)

wish it could be this simple though.

They will Never be popular becasue there are too many obstacles.

Power Lines - Buildings - trees - light poles

Their altitude limitations are just too restrictive.

If you want to pay $90,000.00 to go out in the country and fly around @ 20 ft I guess you can

BUT

you are better off going with an ultra light aircarft and flying @1000 ft These can be bought for under $10,000.00
