then why dont they just leave?? i mean i see tons of questions saying "ooo 9/11 was an inside job" "our govt. is corrupted" "americans are murderers" "bush is stupid" "dont support our military" "let the illegal mexicans in" [ha just had to add that one] blah blah blah. and these are american people. seriously, if they hate america so much then why dont they just move to stinking iraq or mexico instead of complaining about it?? or do they realize that there is no place like america, which gives them the right to freedom of speech to say those things and all these other freedoms, and just dont want to admit it?
like they want to say how bad america is but the second you say "ok fine, you dont have to stay here" they go all "ohhh ive got hte freedom of speech....i cna say what i want..i dont have to leave"

hey, im all up for having and opinion and trying ot make our country better if you dont like something..but what im talking about is the bigger issue. the posts like "9/11 was an inside job" and people not standing for the pledge. that has nothing to do with disagreeing with congress and trying to vote to change it and few of you seem to understand what i mean. by saying that 9/11 was an inside job is just about as completly bogus and un american as it gets!!!! so like i said, if you think your country is corupting you then just leave!

have you studied psychology? There's a period of childhood development called "oppositional bonding." Its around 2 or 3, when children love to say "no." Doesn't matter what you say to them, or how you try to reason with them. "No." Most liberals are cognitive children and just react with a "no" against their parents/authority figures. You can't reason with them.

I'm greatly disturbed by the idea of pledging allegiance to a piece of cloth. that is just too bizarre.
In addition, during the dark McCarthy era, the phrase "Under God" was added to the pledge.
As a person who cannot possibly believe in an invisible sky god, I'm just not made that way, and as a person who takes the 1st amendment prohibition on the establishment of religion, I find the pledge just plain wrong.
As to 9/11, it is a fact that during the Kennedy adminstration, a general advocated 'operation northwoods.'' google it - it's fact, not fantasy. the general's plan was to have our military hijack a plane and pretend cuba had hijacked it.
We also know now that Johnson faked "The Gulf of Tonkin" attack in order to ramp up our involvement in suppressing the Vietnamese people.
There's two, honey.
There are a lot of strange things about 9/11, a lot.
Keeping an open mind doesn't make you a bad person, or a crazy person.
I think you just need to grow up. You sound like a little girl who doesn't even know that America slaughtered most of the native people from sea to shining sea.

It is because people love America so much that they are so angry about the current administration. To see the Constitution trampled and treated as if it were toilet paper by GWB and his cronies is just about more than a real patriot can take. So your opinion is that in order to love America, you have to think George Bush is some kind of divine figure that can do no wrong? That no matter how he crushes our rights, squanders the national treasury and murders our sons and daughters in a war designed ONLY to benefit his family and his oil friends... we should stand by him? Look up the work fascism my dear and it may give you some perspective on what you are suggesting. The strongest patriots in this country are those not afraid to stand up and point out when things are not going right. That is democracy, and that is what our nation is all about. Read sometimes the words of Thomas Jefferson, that will give you an idea of what our founding fathers thought about the idea that we would lay down and shut up while any man spit on the rights of the American citizen. You should be ashamed.

I love this country and expect more. How dare you tell people that just because they don't agree with the policies of the current Administration they should leave. It is called freedom of speech. I'm sorry you don't understand that, but hundreds of thousands of Americans have died for that freedom. Freedom is for all ,even those you don't agree with.
This country was found on dissent, the Constitution gives us the right to speak freely and say whatever we want about this country. Of course they understand.
I'm not sure what your question is really, you answered it yourself, they have that right, end of story. Why would they want to leave if they can't speak freely, even when you think it's not right or you don't agree with it.
You really need to take a civics class or politics class, maybe it will make more sense then. Read about Fascists states that don't allow dissention.

People that do not agree with their governments actions are the people that should not leave nor the people that actively support the government. Our founding fathers were decenters and they set up a government that allowed for decent and participation. The bicameral houses of the legislative branch were set up as a compromise and to encourage compromise. Washington D.C was a compromise between the southern states and the Northern states which disagreed on the seat of our government. Long story short dissent is the basis of our government and it is actually good for the Union because the last time large groups of people left the U.S. the civil war started.

When people complain about how the country is being run, we are HONORING the sacrifices that our forefathers have made to protect our freedoms. If we just sit back and do what our leaders tell us, without ever questioning them--THAT would be anti-American. I realize that such questions can come across as fairly extreme (ie., 9/11 being a government inside job), but it is the very fact that we are ALLOWED to suggest such possibilities, and investigate them, that makes the USA so powerful and unique.
If you don't like your fellow Americans, you are equally free to leave. But neither of us has the right to tell the other what to do.
God Bless America.

"Love it or leave it" is just as closed-minded as some of what you've quoted...and in some cases more.
I fought for this country where people who disagree can agree to disagree without retribution. Their freedom of speech is shared by all, even if we don't want to hear what they have to say...I would defend their right to say it.
If they truly hate America, either people will see it for what it is or they wont...
Most people aren't as easy to read as this forum suggests, so do not be fooled by all the malcontents who would find something to complain about if for no other purpose than to appear that there are more of them that feel that way than there really are...

You seem to have confused what it means to be an American citizen with what it meant to be a captive citizen in a dictatorship.
Don't you understand that your duty is to constantly be alert to what's happening in your country and critique it? Americans are not supposed to be cheer leaders for the govt.
Thomas Jefferson - every heard of him - said this:
“The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then.”
Ever heard this one: Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.
It's a comment on those who pretend they are patriots, while tolerating all kinds of abuse from their govt.
WE THE PEOPLE are the govt, and we darn sure have a right to talk about what's happening here.
Since Bush's dear attorney general said that Americans have no right to Habeus Corpus, even tho the Constitution says we do, how on earth could you think those who criticize are the unamerican ones? It's the Bush Crime Family that are the bad guys, the traitors. (And, it's in their history - Prescott Bush, Bush Jr's granddaddy actually was part of a coup attempt against FDR and later had his assets seized because he was HITLER's banker.
GET A CLUE, dear. Right now, you're a severe danger to our country, our liberties, our future. Understand? Well, ponder it. Okay!

Because that is one of the benefits of America. You can complain about the government and vote to attempt to change it. This is why instead of leaving, those who have a problem attempt to change it by voicing their opinion. If we never complained, we would end up just like the countries with dictators. Believing our opinions mean nothing.

Its not a hatred for America, but a hatred for how the country is run. You have here a country that is based on freedoms and the people in charge are exploiting us for money and power.
Don't mistake people who question if things are right as people who just blindly hate
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Republican President Theodore Roosevelt

This is suppose to be a democracy where we are free to speak out and try to change the things we disapprove of in our country. I guess you don't love that part though. If you did, you would know why they speak out against idiots like Bush rather than run to another country like those illegal immigrants who come here are doing.
WE are opposed to your brand of communism and I for one will not be silent until fascists like you and your neocommie party are out of power.
I speak out because I love my country and don't want it in the hands of idiots like yourself and King George W because I know allowing this country to become what you want it to be will end in our own demise.
