Stereotyping is a sad statement on today's society, whether it be politics, race, religion or "Emo" as you say. Never look at other peoples view on yourself personally. Most of the time they may be wrong. Live your life happy and ignore people who try to categorize you. Life is short, be be happy in dressing the way you want.

What, are you pre-judging all stereotypes now? Like they're just all the same or something? They're ALL just really stupid, every last stereotype? What do you know every single stereotype in the whole world personally, and each of them are indeed, definitively "stupid?" Man, I wouldn't want to have the streotypes find out I was stereotyping them. They can get mean. How stereotypical.

Oh yes, very much so. I have a rainbow messenger bag because where I'm from rainbows are symbols of hope and happiness, but now everyone thinks I'm a lesbian! It's absolutely ridiculous.
And don't even get me going on the stereotypes I face for where I come from.

I dress in a lot of designer clothes (which is sometimes pink) and I give some people the impression that I am gay, if they want to believe that then they can go ahead, I know it's not true and I don't have a problem with them making something up to keep themselves entertained...

Stereotypes. The single most horrible word in the English language (aside from "Loading.")
One day, I wore a dark grey shirt with a silver guitar on it, jeans and dark blue airwalks with colored hearts on them, and people were like, "Are you emo?"
So I go, "um, no."
"Oh, so you're punk!"
"No...I'm not anything...I'm Sadie."
Stupid stereotypes.

Everyone has experienced being the victim of a stereotype at some point in their lives.

When the people ask if you are an emo, ask if they are mindless facist bags of hormonal protoplasm worshiping mindless consumer images to overcome their own feeling of deficiency?

Stereotypes are so damn stupid . Stupid people think there are alot of rednecks and old people here in Florida . There's not alot of rednecks here and there's alot of old people anywhere in the country . That ugly fat bald guy from Seinfeld calls Boca Raton "God's waiting room" . He's just jealous cuz New York sucks and Florida doesn't .

Yep. I'm called emo, nerd, stuff like that. But... whatever. Don't let it bug you. I mean, since when did wearing dark clothes make you a suicidal? (well... I guess it started with The Cure...) But the labeling trend has become way out of hand.

OMG!
THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOUR EMO!
And that SAME story happened to me but on the 2nd day of school...
I'm called emo by soooo many people but honestly I'm just me!
And you're just you!
So those people that called ya emo...
Obviously have no life...
They need to know you before they can judge you...
