i think we need understanding. we aren't as quick as we used to be, we don't hear as well as we did, we don't see as clearly as we used to. we need people to understand that. our language is different in some respects, so we do not understand what young people are saying. we are considered a bother sometimes. take us for what we are, we are still people inside of these worn out bodies, and our minds hold memories that young people will never experience.we are not geared to this fast paced society. we look at the world and what it is becoming and we cry. our minds hold a wealth of knowledge and experience and it is not wanted. inside, we are the same as any young person, but outside, we are old and useless. we do not want pity. we want to be recognized as a person. just try to understand us, even if it is difficult. peace

The thing that they need the most is for someone to show them that they do still matter to someone. They have been through a lot show just be patient with them and show them the love that they might not be getting from others that they miss or can't see anymore.

Attention, someone to treat them like they still matter in this world. Someone to talk to that is kind and thoughtful, to take them to the grocery and care if they are not seen for days, a smile, a hug, a dinner now and again.

Well I counted 5 people who
answered FOR US. The
answers were pretty good,
but young folks...you will never
know what we feel or what
we need or who we are---
until you get here. I guess just
listening to us ramble on gives
you a good picture tho.

to have someone check in on them, a ride to the store, or library, or pharmacy, a walk in the park, someone to help them with chores around the house. if you know someone in particular, just ask.
