Without any prior training at all, my Dad put me behind the wheel of his Silver Anniversary Corvette. Stick, of course.
He thought he was being cool. I was ready to soil myself in fear the whole time.

My dad, he has bad anxiety. I almost drove off a 100 foot bridge. At a stop light he wanted to get out of my car and when the light turned green my first instikt was to drive, so he's hanging half way out of the car with him laying down on the seat with his legs dangling out the door, in the middle of the intersection. I was a crazy driver. I drove a 2003 new beetle white.

The first time was with my dad in a Buick Regal for 20 minutes...horrible experience.
12 years later, it was an instructor from a driving school & my first car was & still is a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am.
Yes, I finally got my license.

My dad taught me to drive & he yelled at me because I kept stalling my sister's Ford Mustang stick shift. The revving of the engine scared me! My first vehicle to drive was my Grandpa's 1970 Ford pickup truck. My brother has it now & it still runs! It takes turning the steering wheel about 4 times around to get it to turn! I never could park it at high school. My friend, Elton, would meet me every morning & park it for me because I never could learn to park the dang, huge thing.

To be honest - my very first driving experience was in the 9th grade at an all 'white' school. I was given one driving lesson and never got a chance to complete the program. I passed the class, but the students parents declared they did not want their daughters and sons in such close proximity to a black person. After that, my aunt allowed me to learn on her Buick Electra 225.

My dad, and he was really bad at driving. While driving instead of helping me realize the mistakes I was making he would just get mad and make me nervous. So I still can't drive. It was in a 2005 Toyota Corolla. =[
