I really really want to get into Princeton and major in Business. Please give me any advice you have.

I'm a freshman at a private school with a GPA of 3.7. I sing, practice piano, and hopefully will start lyrical dancing soon. I was in student council and was student president in my middle school. My uncle is a CEO of his own company and 75% of my family has their own business and are landlords.

What can I do to become a CEO? Even though i'm a freshman, I'm really starting to worry about my future. Please help!

If you are a freshman in high school, chill, relax take a deep breath, Princeton is not really interested in getting letters from anyone their Fresh. Soph. or even Jun. year in high school. The time to apply and start asking major question is the the end of your jun. yr. Remember Princeton will only accept you out of High school so don't go to another college in between time; if you take college courses in High School Schweet! Kudos for you! That will look really good on your application, taking honors courses will too and showing you will be an asset to society. Be involved take this 5 Step Thought :
1- Do something to improve yourself (learn a language, a new instrument, learn how to do something cultural)
2- Do something for your school. Already on student council? Make a change for the better food drives building for the homless
3- Do something to better your comunity (volunteer anywhere they need them)
4- Do amazing in school, got a 3.7? make it a 4.0, always stive for better
5- lastly improve yourself (already said that you say?) Well I did but now I mean make yourself an appealing candidate. Go out for every sport you can, every extra curricular you can.

There! those are some general guidelines to follow, there are so many more ideas I can give you I'd love to help a fellow seeker of the best education you can get (--FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS PRINCETON HAS BEEN THE TOP UNIVERSITY IN THE NATION--)GO PRINCETON. I myself am attempting to go to Princeton I have been going over their applications and am about ready to send them in, in a few weeks.Anyway those are some good steps, any questions?

You have one problem - Princeton doesn't have a business school at all, so you cannot both go to Princeton and study business. I don't know why you are saying Princeton, so it is hard to tell you what to do. Is it because you have visited the school and loved it, or is it because you have heard the name and know it has some prestige?

It sounds like rather than becoming a CEO, your family history is in entrepreneurship. While you can name yourself CEO of your own company, the usual use of the term is for someone who is hired to be in charge of a publicly-traded or someone else's company. You might do better becoming an entrepreneur, which is someone who starts their own company or companies. In either case, you would probably want to study business at some point, either as an undergraduate or as a graduate student. So here is a suggestion, if you want to go to Princeton.

Go to Princeton. Study something which will provide some ideas for your future businesses. Business is about something, not just about running things. You could know about technology, or about entertainment, or something, but you need to have some expertise in some area of human interest in order for a business to be successful. Then, after a few years of work experience, you could go to another school for an MBA. Focus on entrepreneurship. If you did well at Princeton, you could probably go just about anywhere you wanted to go. Use the experience to develop your business ideas and to network with others who may help you in your business life.

I'm concerned that you are worrying about your future. Too many young people today are seeing the future as something they could potentially fail, rather than as a series of opportunities. If you worry, life becomes miserable. If you look forward to the opportunities, you can really enjoy it. Not only that, but if you really want to be an entrepreneur, you need to look for positives and possibilities - those will be your business ideas. If everything frightens you, you won't be able to see the good ideas when they come along.

Might as well apply if you want to go to an ivy league school. Make sure you remember to help me when you are at the top.

Study harder. 3.7 might not cut it. Be perfect and pay a lot of attention to SAT/ACT prep.
