I think you got the story wrong. The actual headline was:
PARIS FOILS TERRORIST PLOT AGAINST GAY POLITICIAN.
And you didn't explain who was Kennedy. Wasn't he our second president after the Washington Monument or something like that?

Fox news, Ted Kennedy. CNN; Terrorist attack. MSNBC and Headline News; Paris Hilton.

Assuming the terrorist attack actually killed anyone, that would be the top story. Poor Paris.

If you took that one out of the equation, though, I'm betting the Hilton story would top the politician story--whether it was a Democrat or a Republican who'd been caught.

If you mean the news stations then it would probably be ,assuming the attack killed people, 2,1,3. If no one was killed it would still be 2,1,3 but with them talking about 2 while some footage of 1 was being showed.

For entertainment news it would probably be 1,3 and no mention of 2 unless some celebrity was invlolved somehow or the attack killed people then it would be 1, 2, 3.

For overall(combined/average) press coverage, If the attack killed people then it would be 2, 1, 3, If it didn't then it would probably be 1,3,2 (3 having only slightly more press than 2)

Actually, story number 4 would win: Republicans STILL Having To Resign Because They Keep Getting Caught Soliciting Gay Sex.

none
The headline would read:
"STOCKS UP ON PREVIOUSLY EXPECTED NATIONAL DATA . TERRORIST MISS TARGET, HOLLYWOOD AND WASHINGTON REMAIN UNCHANGED "

Subheadings:

Paris headed for a second month in jail.

Kennedy advocates for gay marriage.

Cows in Little Rock explode after unexplained methane build up.

Film at 11

Aside - - After reading most responses I am laughing at the fact that the Kennedy story would shock nobody and would have very little steam if republicans tried to use it.

I mean Republicans hate him as Satan anyway and the Democrats could care less.

Possibly 2, terrorist attack, given present media hype and intent to induce certain perceptions that lead to sympathy towards destructive retalliation. Ideally, none of the scenarios though. Media coverage typically hand-picked from the following criteria:

(1) victim of some perceived social standing that coverage eventually benefit related producers according to their limited understanding; (2) victim of some distinct position that related dissemination of information further some cause, regardless who the victim be or of the circumstance; (3) some political advantage for either news media or related administrations be perceived.
