There was a game called Rip Off; two player and both players got to play on the screen at the same time on the same team.
The goal was to keep the bad guys from stealing these little triangles (fuel cells, maybe?) If you shot the bad guys they would die and the fuel cell would be safe, until another thief rushed in to take it.
You could cover each others backs so it was a fun game to play!
The graphics were primitive; as I recall it was a black screen, with each player being triangles, the fuel cells being a smaller triangle size and the thieves being a different size triangle.
Shooting, strategy and teamwork! Now that was a game.
Anyone else remember that one?

I played Pong with my dad it was the most fun we had. He was always sick and couldn't do much. When Atari came out we went to store to buy it. But they were sold out. So I settled for an Odyssey. Big mistake! But I have to say my favorite games were the original Mario games for the NES. But I was in my mid 20s by then. I can't handle the new systems or games now my reflexes just aren't as fast.

well, Pong's a little before my time ^_^ my first console was a Playstation and I loved Spyro the Dragon! I still do, too. I was really stressed a few weeks ago and popped it in for a little while to let off some steam
(modern games are fun, but not many of them have the fun simplicity of the original Spyro)

Back in the day me and my friends were arcade junkies. We'd spend hours in there every day after school. But the best games that were probably spent more of our parents' money on than anything else would be:
Golden Axe!!!!! (Remake due on the 360!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yah!)
Final Fight
1942
Ikari Warriors
Street Fighter
Street Fighter 2
Road Rage
Pole Position
Gauntlet
Lethal Enforcer
Area 51 (the side scroller)
Terminator 2

Wow, Q-Bert! That's very old school indeed.
I'm gonna have to go with Frogger and Pole Position which was awesome! I spent every cent I could get on that game at the arcade!

My all time favorite was Moon Patrol on the Atari 5200.
I also loved pac man and Asteroids. Remember Centipede?
Those were the days. I later got hooked on Super Mario Bros when Nintendo came out!

My favorite was a 1982 game called Zaxxon:

I used to play it all day long in the arcade. The arcade was practically the only thing a kid could do back then in a small mountain town in West Virginia.
Defender and Battlezone were my other favorites. I do miss my old video games...

Others I liked are Wizard, Jumpman, Lode Runner, and the arcade version of Rampage.
