How do I multiplication with the hundreds and thousands? How do I do long division? How do I add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions? What's algebra? How do I do mixed numbers, and negative fractions? How do I change a mixed number to a negative fraction and back? What else is good for middle school math? Please explain these things and anything else i should know?

1. Multiplication with multiples of ten (10, 20, 30... 100, 200, 300... 1000, 2000, 3000... and so on)

Multiply the numbers then annex the zeroes.
Example :
2 x 100 = 200
2 x 200 = 2x2 = 4, then annex the zeroes = 400
20 x 200 = 2 x 2 = 4, then annex all the zeroes=4000

2. Addition and subtraction of fractions.

a. If the fractions have the same numerator, add or subtract the numerators then use the same denominator.
Example :
2/5 + 1/5 = 3/5
2/5 - 1/5 = 1/5

b. If the fractions have different denominators, first get the Least Common Denominator, then proceed to (a)
Example :
1/2 + 1/4 (the LCD is 4) therefore you can rewrite it as:
2/4 + 1/4 = 3/4

1/2 - 1/4
2/4 - 1/4 = 1/4

3. Multiplication of fractions.

Multiply the numerator by the numerator and the denominator by the denominator.
Example : 1/2 x 1/4 = 1/8

4. Division of fractions.

First get the reciprocal of the divisor then proceed to multiplication.
Example :
1/2
----- = 1/2 x 4/1 = 4/2 or 2 (divide 4 by 2)
1/4

Reciprocal is the inverse.

5. Changing mixed number to fraction.

Multiply the denominator by the whole number, then add the numerator. Use the same denominator.
Example:
2 1/2 = 2x2+1 = 5/2
1 2/3 = 3x1+2 = 5/3

6. Changing an improper fraction (the numerator is greater than the denominator)

Simply divide the numerator by the denominator.
Example:
7/2 = 3 1/2
8/3 = 2 2/3

Middle Math is somehow the introduction to Algebra. And to prepare for this higher level, you must know the basic principles of Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division of whole numbers and fractions. You should also know how to do these operations on numbers with different signs.

Math is simple, easy and fun. Do it like you're just playing some board games. Be optimistic. Don't hate the subject, because the more you do, the more you won't get the hang of it. Practice doing some problem solving will also help.

For multiplication with hundreds or thousands just put the 4 numbers at the top. Then the second row and it have to be lined up. Next put a line under it. Now you start at the right and work your way to the left. You have to add the first column top and bottom and then the next and then the next until you go to the left.

examples: 100 X 1000 = 100000 (add all the zeros)
same with any number of zeros
fractions: 1/2 plus 2/2 equals 3/2 etc.

Whoa there!! Why not ask what is the meaning of life while you're at it? Get some books and study. Then ask specific questions if you don't understand something.
