As of the last time the study was released - right before the World Series in 2006, the #1 most dangerous city in the US was St. Louit, MO. The second city was Detroit. I remember because a friend commented that it was funny they were playing each other in the World Series.

However, Camden, NJ comes up towards the top of the list often.

And New York was actually the safest big city for 2005 and 2006.

Usually a toss up between Gary,In and New Orleans but New Orleans takes the cake post-K depending upon what part of the city you are in. when it comes to murders and attempts

But between the court records and most CSI proof contaminated underwater, corupt judges, incompetent DA , and the fact that most people are getting released from jail due to the above.. It's New Orleans

From personal experience--NYC and Washington, D.C. I lived in
Washington, D.C. many years ago in early 1960. Scary. So was
NYC on a visit. Also, L.A. We were there after the riots. Really scary.


I agree with c baby snugglebunny. We live near Hamilton and it is
really scary in some places.

I vote for Oakland CA. It's almost all black and they are over 100 murders there so far this year. The police there don't even bother with everyday things like robberies..
