I have a voice activated computer and that would be the only thing that I could use to do the hobby. I want something that I would be proud of later. I just get so depressed because I run out of things to do. I'm not sure what kind of hobby that I could actually do on a computer but I'm sure someone out there has a great idea. Please give me some ideas. Anything that you could think of!

There is a woman to look at. Her name is Joni Erickson Tada. She had a diving accident in her teens and was left a quadriplegic. Today (at like 50 or something) she has an incredible life!

She paints and draws using her teeth!

I have included her web site and then the second link is to just one drawing that she did (you can find more on the web site).

When you look at that remember she has has to work hard for a number of years to be that good but then you did say you have a lot of time... so hard work would be great addition to that time!

*HUGS* Best of luck to you!

You could contact someone in the military to be a pen pal,or possibly find out how to involve yourself in a group that rates/critiques movies and songs for.
Perhaps find some friends or family that would be willing to play something like Dungeons and Dragons,or computer chess or a card game like poker and or Euchre on line.
Hope I have given you some viable options, good luck.

There are loads of things online nowadays for any person, any situation (!) re information about hobbies/etc. you might be able to do, and what others in your situation are doing -- but also for groups of people with the same disabilities who create their own communities and support each other you can partake in without even leaving home.

Here are just a few places to get started, if you haven't gotten to them yet:

READING (or audio tapes from interlibrary loans, or audible.com or iTunes?):
...The Bone Collector, book by Deaver, Jeffrey 421p
(A quadriplegic detective must solve the gruesome crimes of a serial killer who is recreating murders from the turn of the century)

more books:

Once you start finding a few things, you'll probably start finding or just thinking of more and more. You've still got the most important thing going on-- a brain (best multi-fucntions toy around)!

If I'm not mistaken, can't you make musical notes when you punch a key for a letter? Have you given thought to making your own music and recording it to playback maybe? Just a thought but I remember someone doing this and made really nice tunes! Just a thought. Good luck and wish I could offer a better suggestion!

You could get some software for making your family tree, this is a very time consuming and interesting hobby.
