yes and no-yes becoz he succeeds by birth,no since his music isnt anything compared to rd. i am a huge fan of ar and his tamil songs are real gems,but rember that rd was unadultrated joy to the ear. he lived at a time when the industry relied on skill than technology. if we were to compare naushad and rd then too the argument remains the same. so with the times the class is different.ar stands alone today ,so dont compare him with anyone as much as rd in his time

rahman can't be a successor of the Burmanji coz rahman has different style of music,singing.Burmanji's time period was different & Rahman time period is different so we can't compare both of them. rahman music is as not melodious as the burmanji's.Now a days best music director according to me is shankar,ehsaan,loy.
