This is iran?

Question

I am an iranian living in america, and it makes me sick to see people make fun of iran, when they dont know anything about it.They think it is a carbon copy of iraq.They think we live in the desert with camels and such.They think we are muslim terrorists that go and blow up people.Well not one terrorist event around the world involved an iranian.Believe it or not, we are not even that religious.The government tries to shove religion down our throats but we dont care.People dont care about islam that much anymore.
My moms uncle, who is in his 60's, hasnt been to iran in over 40 years.He, just like many americans, is brainwashed to believe terrorist things about iran.I asked him why he doesnt go back to iran and he said that he cant bear to see a 5 year old holding a rifle.I was shocked when he said this.The last time i went to iran was 4 years ago and there is no such thing. I'm sure if i asked you guys to go check out iran, you would refuse because its too dangerous. and i agree for

for most people it is dangerous. For those of you who have been to iran before the iranian revolution, then you should know what its like. For those of you who havent, then i hope someday this government is gone and you could check it out.

I guess its really the governments that we all hate. Its the government that controls everything, the media and such.

Sure there are iranians who hate america. Sure there are fat/stupid americans. But a few people dont represent a whole country.
Why cant we all just get along

Wow I am Iranian living in America too, and I just got back from there about a month ago! I love Iran so much, it is a very nice laid back culture I think. But people are close minded and cant understand other cultures which is a very sad thing. I agree with everything you said! Since when did persians become arabs? Since when are all middle easterns the same. We could say Americans are greedy selfish people basing this off the president of the USA, just like they say we are religious extremists basing it off the Iranian president. Within every culutre/ religion there are extremists and bad people, but why do we all have to be categorized as terrorists when Iranians are just like Americans, normal people too?

I would love to visit Iran! I hear the museums are great! Although getting a cold beer may be a problem! I wrote in an early blog about a show I say on Iran, I was very pleased with what I saw. I used to talk with a Liquor store owner who was from Iran, he used to tell me stories about growing up there. He once told me about his Uncle who was digging a swimming pool, and how they uncovered two Hugh statues of Lions, that he later put in his yard..I thought that was so cool!! he said the culture is so old that you can dig almost anywhere and find something from the past. It's too bad that just a few people can spoil it for everyone!

I sure do understand your frustration. It is a complete uphill battle. Unfortunately our media plays a great deal into this. Like with everything else, our media usually sees everything black and white. A few crazies always mess it up for everyone else. Maybe people like you could make people here more aware of the good. I myself have never been to Iran but I have been to Saudi Arabia.... I had a fairly good experience. Except the heat thing... but that was the same with Greece. Good luck... and no not all of us Americans believe all the bad.

Just one question.What are the political and security compulsions of Iran to have atomic weapon systems and can the country handle such weapons and ensure their safety and security?No way.So what is it?Agreed,amongst all Muslim countries,people of Iran are most progressive and least religious hardliners but the world deals with Iranian government and not directly with it's people.Bad luck for people but that's the reality.

its the same thing for the terrorists they believe that we are fat, stupid, arrogant, devils who want to control the world and want more oil and crap like that. We all believe different stereotypes about each other and its time for eveybody to forget about them. If we all met maybe just maybe we could actaully be friends.
