Is college safe?
I am a 19 year old boy starting college. Just wondering. Also, is it fun, and will I do well?

it's generally safe as long as you use common sense and don't do stupid stuff that you know better than to do.

It is fun if you get involved. If you become a hermit, college is not fun. At the same time, you will not do well if you become the life of the party, so learn time management and you will have fun AND do well. Do at least one hour of homework per day, more if you have a test coming up. I already have a final paper done in one class, so toward then end of the semester when everyone else is panicking, I will be able to sit back and relax and have fun. :)

more tips to do well:
1) dress decently and pay attention in class.
2) Ask good questions, but not too many questions.
3) Never argue with a professor, even if they are blatantly wrong. (If you want to go to grad school (and even if you don't, you may later), your transcripts will not reflect that you were right, but that you got a C instead of an A.)

4) Check out Amazon or a bookstore for a book that will help you in a skill you are deficit in. Ie, study skills, reading skills, or a general book on doing well in college.

College is what you make of it--life is what you make of it. take it all slow and stay away from the heavy partying--remember that your future depends on doing well in school--but socially there is a lot to learn. Find fun activities when you have time. find nice people to associate with. dorms teach sharing and co-existing peacefully. It is safe if you read and follow all the safety tips they provide you with. Avoid drinking and drugs and trouble---lock up your stuff--never loan money---don't leave your room unlocked.---good luck

Use common sense. I live in a small town with a small university where I teach an introductory course. I have to keep reminding my students that they should never go anywhere alone at night--and I have to keep reminding my son who attends the same university. Don't drive an expensive car to college. Don't leave things in your vehicle. Keep the dorm room locked when you are in it and when you leave. Go to class. Don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. Have a reasonable social life. Go to class. Do your homework. Go to class. Get some exercise every day. Go to class.

Who pronounced something approximately making weapons unlawful? we could like gun reform, no longer banning. There are quite a few valid motives to possess weapons yet you need to confess there are quite a few people who should not be allowed to purchase weapons that finally end up paying for them. we ought to save weapons out of the arms of people with previous convictions for violent crimes and individuals who've psychological problems. yet there are extra factors to the priority. If we enable those with CHL licenses carry their weapons onto campus, that could desire to bring about extra beneficial problems. in case you're attempting to shoot back, you are able to desire to hit yet another pupil. yet we are all finding at this the incorrect way. we are thinking of a thank you to sidestep human beings from stoning up colleges as quickly as we ought to ask how can we forestall human beings from desirous to motel to shootings in college? that's the main suitable question of all. for my section, combating scholars who should not be attending a school in must be the 1st step. commonly situations the individuals who snap are people who won't be able to cope with the rigidity of being a pupil. next we ought to make valuable college scholars have help obtainable in the styles of tutoring for instructions besides as counseling over rigidity if want be. finally however faculties are risk-free. those 2 activities are remoted. that is purely as risk-free as going to the mall or the different component we do in the accepted public.

College is pretty safe if you stay safe. Don't walk alone. At some colleges, they have buttons that you can push and police will come. You can even have someone escort you places on campus.

campus has security, but it might depend on the city....as long as you're careful you should be fine. yes, it's fun! sure, you have to take "crap" classes for your major, but you get to choose your major therefore it's fun. also, you get to meet new people and experience new things, new places....i'm sure that you'll do well as long as you study and put effort into your classes. i wish you luck!
