I just got them, and I heard you need to put them all the way in the ear. When I put them into the ear canal, I can really hear/feel the bass, which is nice...and it sounds better.

HOWEVER, is there any chance that putting them too far in the ear canal will allow the canalphones (also called in-ear-headphones) to touch the ear drum and damage it?

unless your earphones go 2+ inches in your ear canal i don't think they will touch your ear drum

Yes, especially with the insulation of the earphones, it's a lot easier for you to suffer hearing loss. You should be fine just as long as you have the volume at a moderate level and don't plug them in too far

They can't touch the eardrum at all but I had one of the silicone sleeve things stay in my ear. had to go to the ER to get the sucker out. Don't sleep with them in.
