And also perferring a more "white appearance" than "traditional African American female appearances". Is this true? What do they not like about the traditional looks of an African American (darker skinned) woman? And is there anyone here (white or black, etc) who'd like to admit they perfer the "traditional looks" over the "stylized, 'white girl looks'"? Or have you known someone who did?

Okay so I get that everyone has their preference but it seems like a lot of people prefer not to date the average black girl. What I mean by African American features is the "nappy" hair (I use quotation marks since I perfer not to use that word), some hate the nose, or the super dark skin some of them have, and some even hate the big lips. I personal like big lips and I find super dark skin very interesting. I've heard a lot about people not liking black women's natural hair and what I meant by "stylized, Caucausian looks, were the straightening of hair, lightening, etc). Why do a lot of people hate their hair?

Okay Gloryus, I'm not on a high horse, and mixedrace princess, I'm sorry but people use the term light-skinned, dark-skinned to describe blacks all the time. I acknowledge that people do come in all different colors and tones (even whites) and how many of these white guys go for the ultra-dark skin color, I bet a handful of them will go for a lighter skinned one or a biracial honey :)

Will v, I don't have a problem with mixing races, not at all. But as long as we have some really dark people on earth, why don't we show them love and appreciation?

I think it depends on where you grow up. If you grow up in a culture with no white people and only black people you will like black people more than white people. If you grow up in a culture with more white people you will like white people.
Furthermore, people who are more successful stand out and are more appreciated in combination culture. I like some white girls (the spanish ones), some black girls, some asian ones. I think I have a preference for asian girls.
Oh yeah, I am from Sri Lanka (right below south india). So white people normally say I'm black, indian people say Im brown. So I say I am Sri Lankan to avoid all confusion.
Also, I have A LOT of indian people seem to have a preference for lighter skinned people. I think its a cast thing or something. Especially north indians and pakistanis. No mean to be racist or anything, (I really can't be because i am basically indian) but out of all the people I know it is asians and by asians I am including indians (to a great extent) and people from the middle east that bais you based on skin color. It wont even be in a mean way, it will be a matter of fact way. So I guess a lot of people do have this bias, but it is probably because the world is predominatley white. I had a friend who came down from africa. He said when he first came to Canada he could not distinguish between white people. I have heard white people say they cant distinguish between oriental people and black people. Maybe we are onto something?

Hey I dated a black girl and yeah she was very dark skinned. She had bigger lips and all. She was very pretty I thought. I know what you mean, I hear that a lot to. I like the Asian look myself as a rule. The real Asian look not the ones who use skin whitening stuff and have surgery to make their eyes more round. I think that's silly. I wonder myself, I have a few black guys that I am friends with and it seems like they are always falling for white or very fair skin girls. I know that some Asian women even try to look pale I have no idea why they look so beautiful the way they are! This is a good question! I can't wait to see what people say. =)

this was really a good question untill some ignorant *** white people came talkin bout big goofy lips and nasty brillo hair. yeah really cuz dudes like flat butts, flat chests, and no lips. now im not tryna be racist at all but there are some Caucasian people that look like bleached planks of wood. and fyi SUPREME KNOWLEDGE there are a lot of women that are proud to be black and there are so many white men that find african american women very very attractive. so you could take ur big lip nappy hair stereo typin azz somewhere else because yahoo is for all races and if u cant take the heat stay outta the kitchen.

God made beauty in all colors, shapes and sizes. Some people do not appreciate where they came from. But we all have preferences and yes i have known people that were like that unfortunately. There are men of other races that find black women attractive , so beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

There are black men who go out with white woman...that love black women.....there has been countless of times where a black man with his white girlfriend is checking me out. At the end of the day...beauty comes in all shades..not just white...but some people don't like to admit that black is beautiful...that's why they try and make us feel bad about our colour...because they wished they looked like us!!.....they tried to wipe us out ...but it didn't work.....so the plan is that they brainwash us ....(even though they were doing it from time really...but now they are more aggressive)....well.. the weak ones....via media.....to make us feel inferior and worthless... to hate our brothers and sisters... to break us apart... to make up stereotypes...to bleach our skin...to diet to size zero....etc...so that way they can take our place...because they want to be us and we be like them
Have you noticed how white women are becoming more voluptuous....getting lip and butt implants??...to look like black women....i rest my case.

i'm not sure about that but i know there are some men who really feel like that. people like that are losers and hate theirselves. I love all of my black men no matter what their skin tone is. i am more attracted to darker men but i still will get with someone of a different skin tone.

I know a lot of white men who prefer black women, including my boyfriend! GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE BECAUSE BEAUTY EXISTS IN EVERY RACE. EDIT: Actually when I see white m/ black f couples, its usually black women with medium brown to dark skin complexion. Oh and the HIGH HORSE comment is a figurative speech.
