I work in Downtown Los Angeles and I see alot of LOST SOULS in the skid row area. My heart goes out to them at their "existence" in life.
ALONE AND ON THE STREETS ONE DAY.
I PRAYED THE POLICE WOULD COME MY WAY.
TO PICK ME UP WHEN I HAD FELL.
BECAUSE ON MYSELF I COULD NOT TELL.
THAT I WAS DOWN AND OH SO LOW.
MY THINKING HAD DEALT ME A FATAL BLOW.
THE SKYS ARE GRAY AND NEVER BLUE.
I NEVER KNOW QUITE WHAT TO DO.
I WALK ALONE AND ALONE AM I.
WOULD IT BE EASIER IF I JUST DIE.
HOW DO I PICK UP AND UNDO MY WRONG.
WHERE CAN I FIND THE STRENGTH TO BE STRONG?!

That really captures some people's experience of homelessness, once they are their sometimes they do not believe that they deserve better and it becomes a cycle (like when you said the skies are always gray and never blue and then just before that you say about the negative thinking.)

It's really good.
