I'm really nervous about purchasing an extended car warranty. I'm concerned that it will be a waste of money in the event they refuse to take care of claim.

Extended warranty is no good.If you pay $2900 and you have loan for lets say 3 years then those $2900 are divided by 3 Years.So If Your repair cost is $3000 after one year you have to pay the rest from your pocket.

What are the odds that on a Lexus - the most reliable cars in the world - you are going to have $2,900 worth of warrantable repairs during the life of that warranty?
If you don't know the answer is somewhere around 0.
