Reading is very important as well as clear writing. A tutor might help but taking classes in reading might help also. Maybe you could ask a English teacher to evaluate why you have a problem so you could figure out what you need to learn.

I am really unsure about "having a real Mack" for it. Marketing and Advertising are 2 very different avenues of sales.
Even a person with very good sales ability, have to go to school to learn the principals of each and as they apply to different ecomomic and industry standards

SURE!! Some of the most successful people didn't even graduate high school, even middle school for some! But I'm not saying don't be educated. It's good you're working on your comprehension. But if you got a nack for something, then all the understanding problems in the world couldn't stop you !

If you had real talent at something you could succeed despite drawbacks. However, reading comprehension, the printed and spoken word, and spelling and grammar are very very important skills in marketing. In many areas of advertising however your ability to generate creative ideas would be more important than your reading skills, especially in terms of visual creativity.
My experience has lead me to believe that dyslexic people almost always have some other skill in abundance to compensate for their reading shortfalls.
