Pardon my bluntness....
But....
GEEZ....WHAT A DICK!
You never leave someone your riding with behind, specially an inexperienced rider.
Hope you find a nice guy soon.

You safely pull over and pull the rain gear out of the saddlebags. You laugh at the rain as before you went out for the ride you checked the weather report for that area and the conditions were ok for her to ride in.
After putting on the rain dear you proceed to your destination a bit slower and paying additional attention to the other drivers.
If you are riding in a group, you should always look out for each other. The BF leaving you in the rain was a bad thing to do, you never leave someone unless there is a damn good reason. (like going for help or parts)

HI COblonde,
Well, after reading a few of these answers I'm going to have to wonder if this guy is going t be your B/F tomorrow...what he did was wrong....it doesn't matter if your a guy or gal...if he was with you, he should have stayed with you...every bike rider I know looks out for their fellow riders.
Hell, if you had stopped ANY stranger out there on a bike and told him you were nervous and needed an escort to a certain point...I'm sure that 99% of them would have happily rode with you to make you feel more comfortable.
I know people that would have even pulled a trailer out to you and picked you and your bike up if you were that nervous.
If he's leaving you alone in the rain...what else is he doing that may be putting you in a bad situation....it's almost imposible to see 1 motorcycle in a pouring rain storm... there is much more safety in numbers..I recommend finding NEW people to ride with....and maybe a new b/f too....OH YEA...I hope you wiped your scooter down when you did get home.....lol.

The first thing leaving from the rally your BF should have told you to take the lead and he would follow. For me and the wife if it looks like its going to rain we pull over and suit up and continue on,.... If it's raining too hard we will pull over wait it out. You got to have some sort of communication "before during and after" the ride!...Always ride at YOUR comfort level because it's your butt that will loose some skin (ouch LOL). When you are having trouble seeing you should always pull off and wait for better conditions,,I don't always wear a helmet but if I know it's gonna rain ,I at least bring it ,sure helps in the rain...And all decent riders do look out for other riders, that's a given....ride safe my friend!

Most seasoned riders will ride at the pace of the slowest member of the group. But, some guys have the bravado thing and insist on riding ahead no matter what. My advise would be to get into a group with other new riders. They will all be Conservative and safer for you to ride with. Just make sure there are a couple of experienced people to set the road rules.

Yes of course. Most of us will ride with the new rider to give encouragement. Including riding at a reduced, more comfortable speed in the rain. Trade your goggles for glasses in the rain. Goggles like to fog up and make things worse. Ride at your comfort level and ride gently in the rain. You'll get more comfortable the more you do it. Get a better riding partner or kick his butt for leaving you behind.

YES! i find it very important that the group/person your riding with sticks together. there's the odd time we all get into our element and veer off but it's never to far. and we always venture back.
i think it was inconsiderate of your man to go ahead without u because your new in the saddle- it's important that he chooses to do these kinds of things when he's riding without u. try not to let it discourage u too much though.
take a negative and turn it into a positive. get some experience under your belt so u can ride in any kind of weather that comes towards u and feel confident.
and find a rider who is willing to act like other riders do- watch out for each other, and is willing to give u riding tips.
i'm sorry that happened to ya because us riders just don't do crap like that.

If he's your boyfriend, that should be all the more reason for him to stick around. It has always been my practise and understanding that fellow bikers help each other. Especially if you know them. You might want to reflect and think of other times he's "gone on ahead", leaving you on your own to make your way. Leaving a new/inexperienced driver in adverse conditions to thier own devices, is somewhat the same as leaving a child barely walking to get along unsupervised. A bit self centered/thoughtless in my opinion.

I can't believe the answers you've already received. In my opinion not one of them is a biker. Doesn't matter what sex you are...if a I am riding with one other rider or a whole group...we get caught in the rain together then we are caught as a group. If one of the group breaks down we all stop. Yes...most real bikers will look out for each other no matter what type of bike you got...cruiser or crotch rocket...metric or American. Your BF was an a**hole! Along with a few others.

I have never left anyone I am riding with. if its raining as bad as you say it was, we try to find an overpass or a gas station to stop at for a while.
if I was riding with him, I sure would not do it again.
now, if we stopped and he told me he had an emergency - wife, girlfriend, or kid in the hospital, then I would tell him to get the hell out of there, but you are his girlfriend, he should not have left you.

Not much of a boyfriend in my opinion. I wouldn't ever ride with a d*ckhead like that. Real riders never leave another behind by themselves, no matter what.
