Both parties believe the way to win elections is to appease their core voters. President Bush has always been a moderate but he chose to "prove his conservativism" in his initial campaign to get these votes and did come through on some issues but failed greatly with the USA Tyranny Act and in creating a new huge and unnecessary federal bureaucracy called Homeland Security. In that sense, he badly failed his conservative voters. However, to win a Presidential election, one cannot be a radical and one on the left or right has to understand that they will rarely get all that they want. Unfortunately for the Democrats, they continue to put up radical leftists for President.

Bush didn't hijack anything the National Republican Party elected him twice or at least once. How do Republicans claim such ideals as conservatism and moral majority and God?. This Republican Administration along with Republican support has run up the biggest debt the nation has ever seen.
None of their idiotic social changes has worked or even sound like they make sense; i.,e., privatizing social security, fixing medicare to the advantage of pharmacutical companies to the detriment of elderly; remember the donut hole?
Our military is stressed and worn out and the enemy is building up, we attacked a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and we are bogged down in the costliest military blunder in the history of modern civilisation.
Thanks

As a true fiscal conservative I repudiate the Bush administration. Smaller government, my ***. He has done nothing to give us that.

... I do not blame the true conservative for being angry at Bush. He really has been the ruination of the party and that is not really fair since i am sure there are many, many good hardworking honest people. Unfortunately, they threw in with the biggest deceiver of all time.
