Rep. Politicians hold themselves to a much higher standard. When there is a scandal that member steps down. On the other hand, Dems can't do anything worthy of stepping down ie: Jefferson found with $90,000 in fridge, Franks running prostitution ring out of house, Stubbs having gay sexual relations with an underage page. Anyone interested in truth can easily see this.........

The Democratic Party is a conglomerate party and so does not have the intra-party control that the more homogeneous Republican Party has. It is likely that the whole affair would have been long and drawn out without any change unless Congressional hearings were called. In at least one sense, this would have been good. It is nobody's business other then the voters of Idaho who their Senator is and ideally, only they should have had the power to pull Sen. Craig down. Now, the person picked by the Idaho voters was unilaterally changed without their vote and someone will be APPOINTED. He was up for re-election next fall - he should have been left alone unless Idaho voters demanded change. As it is, with his voting record being so in touch with Idaho voters, I wouldn't be surprised if he ran next fall anyway and was re-elected. Idaho voters are stereotyped as prudish but that is not all that true.

Thanks. The polls you linked are precisely where the nation's interest lies, and I don't mean like Obama's seemingly endless strategic deceptions. 100 million unemployed registering claims since 2009 puts the pain for workers under this Administration into focus in ways the media has ignored for too long. Is it any wonder the economy hasn't turned for tens of millions the BLS doesn't even bother to count any longer? The Peter Ferrara analysis for Forbes shows how some of our brightest, most capable economists see evidence that we're still not out from under the worst five years since the great depression. It's worth reading, as are the statistics you've gathered, which Obama apologists naturally refuse to accept. Department of Labor ETA counts seem more honest and representative than anything coming from the BLS at this point.

It seems typical of the neocon mindset to try and find a way to blame democrats or say, " Yeah but what about Clinton." You and you're party elected a pervert who hit on strangers in men's rooms and rest areas and I'm sure he had plenty of sex with other republicans in those rest rooms. The fact that you and others in your party still want to make the issue about democrats rather than face up to the situation proves that you and you're party don't deserve to lead this great nation.
And, before you say, " Yeah but look at what Bill Clinton did," I am not a democrat. I am conservative on many issues and I am moderate on the rest....I never turn hard left for any reason and I still despise people like you and the neocommie party!!!

See, if Larry Craig was a Democrat, he would've never had gotten caught in that situation because he would not have felt a need to hide in the closet (or bathroom stall, as it were). And if for some reason he had gotten arrested trolling in a public restroom, he would've informed the ethics committee right away. And even if he hadn't, all the righty talkers would've been out in force five minutes after his arrest.

Are you serious? LOL Attacking Democrats with a rhetorical question won't change the fact that Sen. Craig has caused yet another embarrassing scandal to the GOP! Nice try.

The Democrats would have eliminated the entire scandal by avoiding the hypocrisy and unscrupulous tactics of the Republicans that create bad apples. Their acceptance of diversity and tolerance don't make news but are only fodder for right wing blowhards.

No press is bad? Surely you exaggerate.
A men's room pickup is so tawdry. Democratic gays, being open and accepting of their sexual orientation, would make their pickups in gay clubs. Deeply closeted, self-hating gays (who are usually right-wing Republicans-- it's called overcompensating) cannot go to gay clubs. So they do things like pick up strangers in mens' rooms. When they goof and start hitting on straight men, these men tell the police, and the police act on it.

I would hope not because political affiliation isn't really the issue. Craig's words and voting record said "anti-gay" and his actions said "I want some of that". He's a hypocrite and hypocrisy should not be a 'political value'.
