I am buying this monitor-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005097

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 5200 graphics card. It has a different connector than DVI. I need to know if this will effect the qualit of resolution and what type of converter cord I need and where I can purchase it. The monitor and my card are female. I was told that I may need to update my system altogether for optimum performance but I am hoping this is not the case. Any and all help regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry but your old card's output is only analog (VGA). It will still work with your monitor. Use a VGA cable to connect it directly to the corresponding VGA input of the monitor.

The monitor should come with an adapter or two different cords so you could use either one (DVI is better, pure digital) but you can use most modern monitors with either one !! That monitor comes with a VGA plug not DVI !!
