What song posesses you to dance when you hear it? Which one just makes you "rock out!" \m/(--)\m/

I don't know...I instinctively find myself doing the "Molly Ringwald" to Drama Rama's "Anything, Anything" when I hear it ... and for some reason, I'm compelled to hop everytime I hear "Love Will Tear Us Apart" from Joy Division..

...yeah I'm a dork -- so who else is with me?

But at least a well-read dork. That counts for something. Let me put this to the test.

I'll give you candy
Give you diamonds
Give you pills
Give you anything you want

So, did you "Molly Ringwald" after that? Seriously, there are tons of songs I dig, but none that have ever motivated me to dance. Rob Zombie came close one time with his cover of I'm Your Boogieman, but there might have been alcohol involved.

On an unrelated subject, I liked the old avatar better. :-(

"Train in Vain" by The Clash does it for me every single time. I suspect it's the nice steady beat at the beginning.

"Shellshock" by New Order is another one. My friend used to always put it on the juke when we'd play pool because it made me suck even worse at the game. I was lucky on tricky long shots, but "Shellshock" was a guaranteed scratch on my part, if I managed to connect with the cueball, that is.

Last but never, ever least, "Jumping Someone Else's Train" by The Cure. On that one, I know for a fact it's the drums--they sound just like a train! How can you not dance!

Hmm, looking back at my answers I see a pattern. I had better ask a question soon about songs with "train" in the title.

"Memphis Exorcism" by Squirrel Nut Zippers always gets me dancing - I don't get much opportunity to swing dance anymore so when I hear SNZ I brush up on the skills.

As far as rocking out... "History of Lies" by Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

I find I do the "Molly Ringwald" to "Kids in America" by Kim Wilde!

I LOVE "Love will Tear Us Apart"!!!!!!! I was rocking out to Last Chance on Stairway by Duran Duran today in my car. It is something about being in the car that makes rocking out better. I think I could rock to anything in a car.
