I beg to differ. Lots of people listen to country music. How else do you explain the popularity of Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, etc. Even pop princess Michelle Branch went country with her group, the Wreckers.
You have people who love country, people who hate it. Same with any other genre. I like all types of music, even rap. I just don't listen to songs that are homophobic, racist, sexist, etc. Don't limit yourself. Music is a gift, no matter what the style.

I love it, for me it's 99% country and 1% rock. I absolutely hate rap!! However, I beg of you not to be mad, but I must say this. Many more people than you think listen to country. That is how the country music singers are so popular, or how the're so many people at concerts, or why concert tickets are always sold out. Country rules,99% of the time the people that don't like it don't take the time to listen to the lyrics.!

I like the older country music that was performed by artists like Patsy Cline, Eddy Arnold, Ray Price, Johnny Cash, and Marty Robbins. What I don't like is the countrified pop that has become so popular in recent years and the videos that show grungy looking artists. The older country music performance clips may had the artists looking cheesy in their big hairdos and western wear but at least they were distinctive. They stood out from the videos of today, which often don't look any different from many rock videos.

I just can't listen to a lot of it, some of its fine but I like blues more. Don't worry though, I'm 14 and I despise rap. My favorite type of music is metal. Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash are good though.

Ok I feel as tho country music about
"my wife left/cheated on me"
"going to drink whiskey/beer/get wasted"
"my dog died"
"your John Deer tracker"
Now, there is songs that don't have that topic, but I'm just saying when the words country music are said, this is what i think.
and ok, rap sucks too.

I love it and have most of my life. I beg to differ with the above person. Apparently she has not heard of the two step, triple two, country waltz (the absolutely most beautiful dance), and the stationery cha cha.
