I have always used tobasco hot sacue .I know it sounds crazy but it works it olny takes the dirt off and it polishes the coin but it will not mess it up or anything try it on a penny or nickle so you will see it work leave it in the hot sacue for about 30 minutes and then take it out and wipe it with a terry cloth o yeah but a couple drops of whtie vinger in there also!
