To my God, it is not the Intercourse, but the lack thereof. I am Catholic, and I'm supposed to abstain from Intercourse until married. Whatever happens must be only with the opposite gender.
With this level of importance (there are many sex sins, and they're easy to break), I'd say 10.

As one Christian magazine said on it's publication "God Knows An Awful Lot About Sex". So with that said, I'd say sex is on a scale of 11! God knows what sex outside of marriage will do to those who participate. It is actually sinning against one's own body. Sex without marriage creates soul ties, and so when a person leaves their sex partner... they still desire them because they unrightly became one flesh! Whether they believe it or not has no bearing on its reality. God wants it to cause a couple who are rightly married to become one flesh and so each becomes like the other... even physically in certain ways. Gay sex is such an abomination because it is TOTALLY and morally against the design and institutionalizing God ordered in the first place. God loves gays and lesbians... He does NOT like or love their sin. God has changed former gays to NORMAL straight men and women... who got rightly married.

I think the question should be, "How important is GREAT sex to God, on a scale of 1-10?"

I don't think God exists, but if he did and he create men inspired by his own image, he wouldn't think sex was much of a deal. If so, if it's only to use as a way of reproduction, why did he give us the chance to have orgasms? I think God would want us to feel nature's pleasures (that includes orgasms) and be able to have them as often as we wanted, if that were evil women wouldn't have a clitoris and men wouldn't have a glans...
It is church who always interpret whatever they want and the way they want. If we had listened to churches years and years ago, we would still wouldn't be able to use condoms. Also, I don't want human beings saying they bring to people the message of God. God is spiritual, churches are human, therefore have a lot of human unperfections.
Listen to your God and forget about Churches. My rate: 1.
Cheers! ;)

If you accept as a given tha God created mankind, then you must accept that God created the sexes, all the things that men and women can do with (or to) one another as well as all the thing sames sex couples can do.
And given the amount to time and energy He has us devoting to sex, I'd place his value on sexuality as a 10.

I think it's very important to God. It's one of the biggest driving forces in our lives and makes you feel fulfilled when it's good.
That makes me think He made it important to us for a reason. I think that we make it dirty and tainted with our own screwed up beliefs.
I think it's a 10.

If we are supposedly made in His image and he gave us this great gift/terrifying weapon as a way to procreate and to share in a most intimate way with our partners or to brutalize or use one another, than I would say it is a definite 8!
