a mate that has similar values to yours. someone who respects women and thinks a lot of you. someone who is calm and a good role model, who has a steady job and most of all someone who believes in god. god created the family unit and is the reason where we get that contented feeling from when we have a family. one word of warning about a problem that is rampant today & i think maybe at least half the world has fallen into - pornography. steer clear of this. it destroys families. there is nothing good about it. if you want a good foundation for family do not allow this anywhere near yours, not even behind closed doors. i speak from experience with this because i let this go on & it eventually ruined my marriage and corrupted my children. so do not allow this to go on at all, not even one little bit. i hope you find what it takes to build a good family.

Sweet Pea I believe communication is the best key. When you have the communication part time, than you will be able to compromise, love, and forgive. You need these ingredients to make a firm foundation for a marriage or relationship. God Bless!

Two mature adults who love and respect each other; who are on the same page when it comes to raising a family regarding discipline and morals and religion; who have strong boundaries when it comes to the in-laws or strangers trying to intervene on the marriage in any way; who are ready for children and all that brings to a marriage; who understand each other and are willing to trust each other's decisions when the other isn't around; who have the strength of character to raise children to be responsible adults.

FIrst, and foremost, communication and understanding! Then trust, loyalty, honesty, respect, and faithfulness come into play. With the parents going by these qualities and teaching them to their children, it will make them productive and happy people.

COMPROMISE.....always. Never try to win the shouting matches but compromise instead. The BIG rule in our house is never go to bed angry. If the other is being too stubborn to apologize you do it. Respect and never degrade or speak condescendingly.
