App State ISN'T Div II, they are 1-AA. People keep getting this wrong.
Even so, no they cannot. 1-AA has their own tournament, just like 1-A SHOULD!!!

No.
The divisions are set. App State will play in their own playoffs.
However, I wouldn't rule out them getting some first place votes in some of the polls if they win out and Michigan does well the rest of the season. There are no rules against that as far as I know.
However, what you bring up here is why I believe that, even if Michigan won out, they would not be in the BCS title game. No Division I-A coach wants to see a scenario where a team that lost to the I-AA (I'll keep using this because it's shorter than the new name) champ has a chance to win the D-IA title.
Of course, with Michigan's defense, I doubt that's going to be a problem. Their offense isn't always going to be able to score more points than the opposition, so they will have at least 3 more loses, in my opinion.
Any consideration of App State as an overall national champion by one of the polls would be contingent on Michigan winning out.
P.S. folks, please do not use forms of the word "rape" to describe sporting events. It really is an inappropriate analogy. It lacks class to use it that way.

The rules state..."if a Div I AA team runs the table, they can be considered for a BCS bowl berth only after defeating the following opponents; Houston Texans, Michelle Kwan, Superman (not the one from Smallville), Newman from Seinfeld, Sponge Bob Squarepants, Mr. Bean and a mint flavored toothpick in a no holds barred cage match."
Geez, what a stupid question...I'm assuming you're from the Appalachain area and just did wonders about dispelling the dumb country yokel sterotype.

No, they our Division II A. They have their own playoff system. The BCS championship is now separate from the other four BCS bowls as of last year. But it will be played in New Orleans in the Superdome which means it will be played on the turf of the Sugar Bowl.

No, they can't play for the BCS Championship/BCS Bowls if they win out.
And to everyone else posting, no longer are they Division 1AA. The divisions are Division 1-FCS and Division 1-BCS with BCS being the former 1A and FCS the former 1AA.

No...because they are 1-AA, which has a playoff system...so they won't be able to go to bowl games...until they go 1-A, which I think will happen in a couple years...much like Marshall a few years back...1=A should take a cue from 1-AA and have a playoff system instead of bowl games...

no. tehy coudlnt. people accept it-they 1.wont go 13-0 (go furman)...2.they are a subdiviosn team in their own playoffs. they beat an overranked michigan-point? i like the wolvs...but beating 1 good team doesnt make up for beating 12 other not so great teams.
man you beat one team nd people consider you for something you arnet good enough for. it was a fluke game...next week lets face USC...theyll get manhandled...against florida=raped...against duke=raped (pun intended)...against OSU=beaten....against michigan=they'll lose....one win doesnt credit anything ...beginning of the year loses happen...people=accept it-app state is NOT going to a bowl game...maybei n 2 years if they win and/or come close to the D1 AA champ. game and meet the other requirements-then yes..once they move up...then they may be a bowl team.
