I'm not worried about losing, I'm worried that some chicken sh*t cut and run liberal will win. If we had a half intelligent Democrat runing for president, it would be different........########

Spelling note: "Losing" has one O, and "Hillary" has two L's.

I haven't heard a lot of mud-slinging from the Republicans (or the Democrats, for that matter). Perhaps you listen to the news or radio shows more carefully than I do. But the vitriol will certainly get worse next spring.

And yes, I think the Republicans are worried about losing. Hillary has emerged as a strong candidate, while no one on the Republican side has stood out as a front-runner.

The Rep party elders are fully aware that both Hillary and Obama are capable of swinging large swathes of intelligent right of center voters. This is bound to be a worry to those that have a great deal of money invested in a minimum-legislation pro-big-business victory and they will not allow either to go on the offensive for long.
Folks have wised up in the last few years and 'fear' is less of a factor, I hope!

May the best woman win! ;-]

Hillary has got the highest negatives in polling history and you want to blame Republicans for that? Is there a possibility that Hillary had a little to do with it? Nah, that would be smart. Lets blame the Republicans because it is so much easier than looking into our own party and seeing the problem. Like the old saying goes, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

Why wait? Hil and Edwards were planning on thinning the herd. Hil is making attack ads against Bush, guess she didn't get the memo that Bush isn't running again, and she's bashed Obama, one of her own party members.

If it's good for the goose it's good for the gander. Seriously. There's no partisianship in my answer, it's called politics. And it's never nice.

No, I'm not at all worried about losing to either of them.

Lucky for us that Hillary and Obama don't need our help to look bad. They're already slinging mud at each other and arguing like four year olds. Also, Hillary's already running out of excuses about illegal campaign funds, again. (Is this deja vu?) Not to mention she has enough skeletons in her closet to run her own freak show themed amusement park. Even if, by some miracle, she does get elected she'll be impeached before she even gets to pick the color of the new china.

It really pretty funny right now, they better mix up some heavy duty mud to recover from Vitter, Foley, and Craig, it puts a heavy dent in their Family Values plank.
Especially when their leading candidates have two or three wives or admit to affairs.
Expect the smears to continue, its worked well for them in the past, and it didn't matter if it were true or not, why would they let a few lies bother them now?

Its what they do. And they are good at it. It has won them a lot of elections. Dukakis lost the election because the republicans smeared him with Willie Horton (not sure if that name is right) and Kerry got swift boated (still amazes me that the repubs were able to take a war hero and a deserter and somehow make the war hero look like the bad guy). So they will call Hllary a socialist. And they will call Obama naive. And somehow make war-mongering, flag waving, homophobes seem like nice guys. THEYR'E NOT!

It's how the game is played and how it usually has been played in the USA, for a couple of centuries. You think the mudslinging is bad right now? It's nothing compared to the stuff that happened a century or so ago.

Example:

Little Know Ye Who's Comin'
Little Know Ye Who's Comin'
Little Know Ye Who's Comin'
If John Quincy Not Be Comin'!

Fire's Comin', sword's comin',
Pistols, guns and knives is comin',
Famine's comin', bannin's comin',
If John Quincy not be comin'!

Slavery's comin', knavery's comin',
Wonder's comin', plunder's comin',
Jobbin's comin', robbin's comin'
If John Quincy not be comin'!

Tears are comin', fears are comin',
Plague and pestilence is comin',
Hatin's comin;, Satan's comin',
If John Quincy not be comin'.

Yes, they remember Vince Foster and don't want the park to be used as a dumping ground like it was when the other Clinton was elected.
