Or should I wait to see if it gets higher.

Like mentioned a rise in temp is normal. If it is a fever then it is your body's natural way off fighting an infection. There's no worry unless it goes a little higher. Most doctors will simply ask if you've taken Tylenol to break it anyhow and recommend trying that first before coming in. When in doubt always call the doctor though, they may want to stay informed and determine the cause if necessary.

Don't worry. I have had a low grad temp (less than 100) since I have become pregnant. Your body temperature is supposed to increase when you are pregnant. Unless it reaches above 100 degrees do not stress.

first of all, congrats on the pregnancy.

second, 99.6 is a low grade fever and is not really much of a concern. if it's over 100 degrees, then you should see a doctor immediately as that could be signs of something more serious.

third, enjoy the pregnancy and try not to worry to much. that alone isn't healthy for the baby or yourself.

Hi! I am a medical assistant and nurse aid. To be a fever you have to have at least a 100. temperature. And honestly that isnt anything big to worry about. If you have a fever over 101 and are dizzy then call the doctor and let him know what is going on. You probably have a virus. Good luck and God bless!

I'd wait a little longer. I don't know if your dr. will allow you to take tylenol before the 12th week (a lot of important baby development's going on right now).

The important thing is NO ASPIRIN, no alka-selzer (there's aspirin there, too). Aspirin is a blood thinner and if you were to start to bleed or hemmorhage, having taken aspirin could compound the problem substantially.

Check in the morning and if your temp is 100 or more, call the dr. If you temp spikes before then, call the dr. Remember, you're paying him to take care of you during your pregnancy. It's is job, day or night to be there to advise you.

I wouldn't worry -- that's barely a fever at all! Unless you are feeling otherwise ill, I don't think a call is necessary.

Not to worry! It's totally normal for your temperature to rise a little when your pregnant. It pretty much stays that way the entire pregnancy.

No. You are going to find that you will get all sorts of stuff because you have a reduced immune system while pregnant. If you feel uncomfortable, consider calling the office and finding out what you can take for your symptoms, but otherwise drink orange juice and rest.

My doctor always told me that my temperature would be about 1 degree higher than normal. So, throughout my entire pregnancy, my basal body temperature ranged around 99 degrees, give or take a half of a degree.

I would not think that there is anything wrong with you. You are pregnant and supposed to be warmer than average. Unless you are feeling ill, or spike a temperature verging on 101, I would not worry. If your temperature happens to get this high, please inform your doctor. It's a sign of infection (when I say infection, I am ONLY implying that your bosy is fighting something, so do not panic!!) and you do not want to take the chance of spreading it to your baby.

I wish you the best of luck. Enjoy your pregnancy and enjoy your new baby:)

That's pretty normal. If your temp is usually right around 98.6, you should be fine. Pregnant women usually are a bit warmer. Call your doc to be sure, though.
