I'm assuming Chad Henne took himself out of the running yesterday (8/1/07), but did Mike Hart's half game performance, which wasn't bad, keep him in the running or will this improbable loss negative impact his chances?

Note, I say not bad because one has to wonder what was going on with his "injury". He played well while he was in, but he had very limited playing time. Depending on why that was, I "not bad" was an intentional understatement.

I don't know if he had a realistic chance anyway. He would have split votes with Henne and most people would favor Slaton or Mcfadden if they were going to give it to a back. Hart wasn't not bad, he was great yesterday. That kid leaves his guts on the field every game. He's quickly becoming one of my altime favorite Wolverines. He only played a little over a half yesterday and had 188yds and 3 tds. The offense looked completely different with him in the game. I feel so bad for him because he doesn't deserve the terrible team around him.

I dont think so because he is the only one that played with Heart no pun intended. Eventhough Michigan lost alot of credibility, they still have the opportunity to win the Big 10. So if they can finish the season strong, Hart will be a contender.

His performance wasn't bad?

He single-handedly brought Michigan back into contention in that game. In my mind, Hart is the front-runner.

But people love Brennan and McFadden too much.

henne was never THAT good but he is pretty decent. hart i believe may have helpd his chances if people look at how they played. he carried that team esp. on that 50 yard run or so-that run alone got my vote personally.

Well, considering he's about the 8th best RB in the country, he didn't have much of a shot anyway.

Sorry, but he doesn't deserve the Heisman.

I think he still has a chance, sportscenter kept saying he carried the team on his back that cant be a bad thing.

Hahahaha ... YES. Sorry U of M. Should have taken care of business.

That's pretty sad ... you lose your home opener. Those boys from App State came to play, and M grossly underestimated them, to their demise.
