Back in the days my mom grew up life was simpler and less frustrating and difficult...
Today it is harder because there are more people and more business and more housing and money problems with costs going up...
It seems we are stuck with these harder times and life would be so much better if we could return to simpler times...

less complicated and simpler than what?
No, actually we receive lessons we're supposed to learn as we move thru life. If we don't learn them the first time then they repeat until we do learn them. They make life interesting and complicated.

I think we make it more complicated and less simple.
There was a wonderful man/Priest/philosopher/teacher
he died quite awhile back; his name is/was Alan Watts.
I listen to his speeches on a free speech radio station here in Tampa, Florida called 88.5 fm (www.wmnf.org). He studied Zen as in the Buddhist religion and was teaching it to Westerners. Guess the tapes are probably 30-40 years old. He tried to help people bring their piece of the world to a better place, where it is easier to understand why we do things and why we shouldn't.
Sure wished I could balance my world that well! I do think we put way too much drama in our lives, and we make things so complicated!

I don't think life is supposed to be simple or complicated.
Over our lifetimes we will experience periods of both.

The more friends and family we have; the more active and occupied we spend out days.
These are the things that can complicate our lives.

To a degree we can simplify our lives, but that would require living nearly reclusive.
Would you really prefer it that way Eric?

Life is actually is without any complication and simple. It is we humans make it so complicated and create a hue and cry. I remember what shakespeare has said about this.
"Life is a tale of an Idiot, full of sounds and fury signifing nothing"

Have a wonderful day.

life is only as complcated as if you make it. your choices and actions, make your life the way you wish. however, there a certain circumstance that are out of your control. thus thats what determains how you deal with them as a person is how you would like to see your life as. eg. you car has a flat on a free way. out of your control. you can do on of a few thing, get upset and have a cry on the side of the road and say why me, or youcanget out change the tyre and mark it as new experience and a topic of conversation and have laugh about it

Here's the quote I live by, "Life is so hard sometimes." It really fits every situation you face, depending on your inflection when you say it. One day it just popped out of my mouth and I thought, "Wow, that's the smartest thing I've ever said."
