My family is searching for a cell phone company and a good plan for 5 phones. Heres how well be using them

Me - Text and Talk often more text than talk

Sister - Text and talk a lot

Other Sister - talk every once in a while not a huge texter

Mom - Talks for about 5 10 minutes twice a day not very much and no texting at all really

Dad - Only uses 1 for emergencies rarley every talks NO texting at all.

Ok my mom and sisters want Verizon because they like the chocolates. I want anything idc as long as they have good phones and not to expensive (Cingular would be my choice). My dad could care less.

We dont want to pay to much a month but be able to do all that stuff atleast.

What plan/phone company do you have and do you like it?

Thanks a lot to everyone!

I have checked a bunch of companies and plans. I had grief with coverage, bogus roaming charges, and overminutes on many of them.

I ended up picking Verizon. The coverage is great. The price (particularly on family plan) is reasonable. There is very little hassle if there is a problem that needs to be corrected.

I am currently with Verizon DON'T DO IT. Go with cingular! I have sooo many problems with Verizon especially with there phones, yes plural phones, in the past year I have gone through 3 different models all because of technical difficulties with them. All the LG phones I ever got from Verizon were crap (the chocolate is an LG), and Verizon is not willing to work with you on anything. I have researched cingular and they have some really good calling plans that are comparable to Verizon's, and if mom and sis really want the chocolate tell them that cingular carries a similar phone to that made by Nokia. Good luck and go with cingular.

A 5 person family plan will cost about $150, with all the taxes and fees. You should go with the company that gives you the best overall coverage. They all give you 30 Days to try the service before you commit to the 2yr contract.

A phone with great features is only as good as the network that its on. If you don't have good service where you live/work/school... then it'll just be a waste. Also choose a carrier that your friends and family uses. So that you can take advantage of the free mobile to mobile usage.

Verizon...they have decent prices, and I hardly get dropped calls. Do not get Cingular...I had them...was very disappointed.
