There are many contributing factors to the violence in Sao Paulo. Like many other large cities, you have a very mixed population - differences in race, culture, economic class all contribute.
Another factor is the lack of a legitimate authority that can guarantee and secure the social and political life of the country. Whether from corruption, lack of funding, difficulties with legal system - there are some major problems in law enforcement. Also, the lack of prison space.
Other contributin factors are the extreme poverty in the area, drugs, lack of education, and insufficient opportunities.
Unfortunately, this is not isolated to Sao Paulo nor to Brazil - these (and other) factors lead to violence around the world.

Singers like her hit the enormous cities and the richest places first, then they circulate directly to smaller places later. additionally, woman GaGa possibly does not pick to shuttle too distant precise now as a results of her well-being themes. however she does not have it, no longer too some time past woman GaGa became into examined for Lupus. São Paulo is gigantic city, with 19 million people in metro area, from all over the world and lots from all over Brazil itself, and there is huge income inequality.
Here you can find people driving Ferrari's and after some minutes you can find people riding donkeys.
It´s just crazy!!!

It's not poverty, it's inequality. Poor countries are not violent, unequal countries are violent (South Africa, Brazil, Colombia, etc).
When you're poor but everybody around you is poor, like in Burkina Faso, you don't care. But when you're poor and less than 1km away from you you see a guy that has a BMW in his garage...
Also, Brazilians laws are a joke, too sweet and tolerant with the criminals.

unfortunatly its not only on Sao Paulo..
I used to live in Rio de Janeiro and its very violent..
I do think its because of poverty.. but being poor doesnt mean you have the right to kill and steal and be violent you know?
