ask not what your country can do for you, rather ask what you can do for your country.
I left two legs in Vietnam (can you find that on the world map ) for another administration who's bloody fools did not know what they were doing.
What have you sacrificed? ( they take girls now a days in case you don't know) and while we are at it, why don't you tell me a little about your countries principles, do you mean by that invading other countries under false pretenses??

Ab, these kinds of posts are so unlike you...but I can feel your pain and appreciate your sacrifice. I lost a cousin in Vietnam and if not for our strong family bonds the other boys in our family who returned from that war might also have fallen victim to some of the blame people who chose not to do their bit laid on our returning servicemen.

Bless ye, and don't let these nasty little know-nothings get to you.

I have not seen Char J posts, but I guess they were Anti all things American and Anti all things British forces being in Iraq.
I am not going to go into the wrongs and rights of this, however I just wanted to offer you my respect and to say that having done two tours of NI when I was young, 18 at the time, I can relate to a degree to what you must have gone through.
Lastly, I have always said of the Americans that I would Rather have them on the inside of the tent pissing out, than the outside pissing in.
It must have taken real courage to go through what you did, so respect to you.

I had to search your profile Scrooge to find the "question" you were referring to in your other ignorant question directed toward me. Now you tell me where in my ranting to you said anything about me being hypocritical or demeaning to ANY armed service troops! To the one answerer here who said he had never read any of my questions/answers, you may go to scrooge's question entitled "did Senator Larry Craig..." and read my response to this and many of his nasty comments toward Americans. This particular one wasn't so bad, but read some of his others and you'll see why it upsets me although you may agree with him, if so that's your perogative. I have always supported the troops, American or any of our allies. I have Never said anything but good things about the English and will continue to do the same. Ergo, I am truly sorry, Scrooge that you were injured in Vietnam but that doesn't justify how you constantly put Americans down for being American! I'm not like you Scrooge, one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch to me...and you're a rotten one.

Have no answers...but hats off to you!
Sadly, sacrifice is a word that our generation today does not understand. When God made men like you, methinks the mould broke...! xx
