"the meek shall inherit the earth" (hope it happens in my lifetime).

it makes me really sad to know of the things man is capable of doing, hurting animals being just one, especially as Mankind is capable of so many wonderful things.

Some people are just sadistic and some people just have no love or respect.
There are people who abuse other people, children, women, other man.
There may be many reasons but there's no excuse.

Do you eat meat? Or do you mean any animal, or do you mean house pets? Cause I like fish, ham, bacon, hot dogs. Do you?
Well, I'm going to agree with you about not understanding reasons for animal abuse. But my question more importantly is human abuse. There are homeless people on the streets, babies born and within minutes tossed out the the window. I think we should think about humans before animals.

The reason that we still have to prevent animal abuse is people don't want to spend the time caring, and loving their pets. A lot of people buy there children pets to take place of them, and offer them companionship while they're at work.

One could just as easily ask why, in this day and age, there is still a need to prevent child abuse, wife abuse, or any other crime against helpless creatures. Unfortunately, there will always be sorry excuses for human beings among us.

yes I do but I know that most of society is still "uncivilised" and alwsys has been-its a battle between civilisation and uncivilization and animal abuse happens when those ppl who are so ungrateful for all the things they have now compared to the past are utterly ignorant and decide to enact their own stupidity and inadequacy on animals.

This "day and age" IS the reason. Parents let kids get animals and mistreat them. It used to be that getting a pet was to teach responsibility, but now, it's just to shut the kid up. This applies to a lot more than animals though.

You've got a fair point, but you're obviously lugging your soapbox all over this place, so I suggest you shut the hell up and ask a proper question.
