When you added that cold air intake, I'll bet that you removed the resonance chamber that Mazda designed into the system to help the lower end.
A smaller volume intake would help. But I know of no such parts in the industry.
Decreasing exhaust tube diameter would help, but at the expense of mid range on up.
The other choice would be cams, however the automatic cams (at least in the Miata 1.6 engines) are low end cams. So if that baby is running the DOHC 1.6, not much help there. Unless you swapped in a manual DOHC engine or head at some point. If so there is your answer, get the Miata 1.6 automatic head and use it. At least I think these parts are interchangable.

Try changing to a smaller outside diameter front tire. This has the same effect as lowering your gear ratio and boosting low speed power. Small diameter headers would help also.

im guessing you mean increasing your lower end torque? it is hard to get any more torque out of a small engine. intake, adding heatshields and what not will increase your high end and will increase your throttle response, which will make your car feel a bit quicker, but they dont really increase ur low end torque. just a warning, getting an after market exhaust with larger piping will lower ur low end torque. the only real way to get more torque out of a small engine is to use force induction but thats expensive..

the "heat shiels" will help a lot on your intake that is for sure so im proud of you so you have a found a cheap way to increase not a significative power but a good enfiency up-grade

and for the rest of the question all you see above me they are guessing......
so pick yourself the best guessing answer

The only real way to get a stonger bottom end is with a larger displacement (via larger pistons or engine swap) or boosting it(turbo- or supercharging).
